WELCOME TO CITIZENS FOR  DISTRICT/AT-LARGE REPRESENTATION

Citizens for District / At-Large Representation (CDAR) is a non-partisan group of concerned citizens who believe that the city government of Oak Ridge, Tennessee will benefit from a system in which the City Council is comprised of some members who are elected at large and some members who are elected from districts.  CDAR members believe that this idea should be carefully considered by a City of Oak Ridge Charter Commission.   CDAR solicits free and open input from the public.  If after free and open input from the public, the Commission finds this idea to be meritorious, it should be submitted to the public as part of a referendum for changes to the city charter.

After a successful petition campaign to place a Charter Commission election on the November 4, 2008 ballot, CDAR is now working to help elect seven Charter Commission candidates who have expressed their support for an open and thorough discussion of the merits of a combination of district and at-large representation on the Oak Ridge City Council.
